Cute little cafe in one of the lanes. I had the fruit scones with cream and jam! Also tried their hot chocolate! It was hearty! My friends tried the coffee and a cake. They liked it as well. The place is generally packed and people have their gatherings in the outdoor seating even in the middle of the week. We were lucky to get a table!

The best cafe in St Andrews in my opinion! Very busy wee place, especially on weekends, so make sure to book in advance! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a delicious scone with jam and cream (of the best I've had) and a lovely cup of tea. A really good selection of cakes on display and an extensive menu. My friend ordered the sausage roll and it was huge, so come with an appetite. Portion sizes are great! My go to in St Andrews now

Absolutely loved the food here! Got the wee veggie breakfast and it was the best Scottish breakfast I had in Scotland. The server was so very nice, I can’t remember her name I believe it was Sarah but if she reads this I want her to know that she made my day!

Came here for a quick breakfast before golfing. Wanted an english breakfast and this place hit the spot. Simple but good quality ingredients. Staff was very friendly and accommodated our large group of 6. Place is small so call ahead to check for seating.

My friends and I stopped in here for a celebratory breakfast after finishing our Fife Coastal Path. I mean. What a perfect cherry on top of our trip. I can't speak to the praises of the young women running this place enough. Here's my recommendation: find this place tucked in one of the wee quiet streets in this busy area of St. Andrews, take a seat, slow down, and have a leisurely breakfast. If you're complaining about the speed of service, remember that this is a busy spot for a reason, and the women here are managing it all. All of the teas are premium quality, and the FOOD! We had the wee breakfasts (regular and veggie) and they were of incredible quality. The veggie haggis!! So delicious. But the best part was our server (I wish we got your name!), who was so funny, helpful, and friendly. We had a blast here, and a large part of that was because of you. We did some shopping then came back here for tea and cake (which were also very very good!) and to say goodbye to our server before we left St. Andrews. She was an absolute star. I hope we meet again!

One of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve had, see photo. Add some good coffee and outdoor seating to watch the world go by and you have the perfect wee spot in St Andrews.

This is an absolute gem of a place in St Andrews! We were given a table outside which is a lovely courtyard, and dog-friendly is a bonus! We had our two children so they both ordered macaroni cheese, and we ordered the Shrimp Po’Boy and Steak Philly sandwiches which were both amazing - the prawns were juicy and the pickled slaw was so good!! I didn’t think I’d manage to eat the side of sweet potato fries I’d ordered after seeing the size of our mains but they were so crispy and perfectly cooked, they got demolished too! The kids macaroni portion was really good and the garlic bread was homemade and lovely. Service was top notch, very friendly welcoming team and even little touches like having plastic cups for the kids to use is really good. A really pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, could’ve easily sat there all afternoon! Can’t wait to go back again and try the other options on the menu because the choices are great, it was hard to pick just one! Thank you to The Cottage Kitchen!

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had!! We stumbled across them and I am so glad we did. It was very quaint and the food was fresh. I ordered a veggie breakfast and I still can’t stop thinking about it. My fiance ordered the CK breakfast and that was equally delicious. There isn’t much seating inside but they do have covered seating outside as well, but either way it will be worth the wait and visit.
